European consumer prefers service to a lower price

01-09-2009
From a recently published report from the Directorate General for "Heath and Consumers" of the European Commission it appears that there are large differences between countries in the 8 product markets that were researched. The researched markets are: vegetables & fruit, non-alcoholic drinks, meat, ICT goods, electrical equipment for the home, products for leisure and entertainment, clothing & shoes and motor vehicles (new). It appears however that European consumers are in general dissatisfied with the price/quality ratio on offer and that the most important drivers for a satisfied consumer are the quality of the service offered and trust in retailers.
