Tricorp updates hivis garments to new EN ISO 20471

19-09-2013

As one of the first manufacturers Tricorp Workwear has its high visibility clothing line for the most part updated to the new standard EN ISO 20471:2013.

While manufacturers are still able to provide EN 471 certified clothing as long as the product is not changed, Tricorp has chosen to adapt its technical files to the latest requirements.

According to Edwin de Graaf - Manager Operations Specials - an argument for this is that Tricorp wants to become a leading player in the market for protective clothing and that it is a matter of course that the most recent standard versions are followed.

Moreover, de Graaf sees EN ISO 20471 as a clear improvement over the old standard EN 471 in particular were the effects of the use of the clothing is taken more into account in the approval criteria for products.

Recognizable clothing

In some cases Tricorp had to modify the design of the clothing in particular as regards the full encirclement with fluorescent fabric around sleeves and trouser legs. This has been achieved without loss of recognition from the Tricorp clothing line.
